Kick-off for the Future Place B\u00fcrgewald<\/h2>\n

From August 30 to 31, 2025, eleven founders met at the CUBITY Atelier House in Merzenich to lay the foundation for a cooperatively organized housing and working project. The initiative was moderated by Sascha Gajewski-Schneck. The aim of the meeting was to establish a cooperative under the guiding principle of creating a long-term sustainable place for good living\u2014one that respects planetary boundaries, i.e. scientifically defined ecological limits such as climate, biodiversity, or freshwater, whose transgression can destabilize the Earth system.<\/p>\n

Working on Community Involvement in Merzenich<\/h2>\n

The founders stayed overnight at CUBITY, which allowed exchanges to continue late into the evening. In their intensive discussions, they agreed that change must be initiated for places to truly become sustainable. The group worked on values, goals, and structures. They tested forms of collaboration, defined initial steps, and explored how the project could involve people in Merzenich and beyond.<\/p>\n

The founding group now plans to refine the outcomes and involve further interested people. The goal is to create a lighthouse project that combines living, working, and community while making careful use of resources.<\/p>\n

W\u00fcrdigung des CUBITY f\u00fcr sein innovatives Konzept<\/h2>\r\nDem CUBITY wurde die Auszeichnung \u201eVorbildliche Bauten im Land Hessen 2020\" verliehen. Die renommierte Auszeichnung wird von dem Land Hessen und der Architekten- und Stadtplanerkammer Hessen auf dem Gebiet des nachhaltigen Planens und Bauens in der Preiskategorie Neubau, Auszeichnung Vorbildlicher Bauten im Land Hessen 2020, vergeben.\r\n\r\nDas Auszeichnungsverfahren \u201eVorbildliche Bauten im Land Hessen \u2013 Preis f\u00fcr Architektur und St\u00e4dtebau\u201c wird im Turnus von drei Jahren ausgelobt. Die Auszeichnung wird seit 1954 vergeben und z\u00e4hlt zu den \u00e4ltesten anerkannten Architekturpreisen in Deutschland.
