Open House Day 2024: Visitors Enthralled by the CUBITY Concept
On October 3, 2024, as part of the Merzenich town festival on Open House Day, the Foundation for Art and Architecture presented the CUBITY Atelierhaus to the public.
The CUBITY receives the award “Exemplary Buildings in the State of Hesse 2020”
The CUBITY receives the “Exemplary Buildings in the State of Hesse 2020” award. Following the recognition in 2022, the official plaque for the title has now been presented.
Signing of the Letter of Intent (LOI) for the revitalization of the Morschenich-Alt site in CUBITY
On 7 December 2023, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Municipal Affairs, Building and Digitalization of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, RWE Power AG and the municipality of Merzenich jointly signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) at the Cubity Atelier House regarding the transfer of the village of Morschenich-Alt to the municipality of Merzenich.

The CUBITY Atelier House celebrated the official topping-out ceremony of the building on September 21, 2022. The event was opened with a welcoming speech by Dipl.-Ing. and architect BDA Markus Schmale. Ina Scharrenbach, MdL, Minister for Home Affairs, Municipal Affairs, Building and Digitalization of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Georg Gelhausen, Mayor of the municipality of Merzenich and Jens Broeker, District Administration of Dueren, also attended the special event at the centrally located Poolplatz.
