Architecture students from Cologne University of Applied Sciences met in March for a project development course at the Findeisen Foundation’s CUBITY to design concepts for the revitalization of the Rhenish mining district.
On May 2, 2024, the Zukunftswerkstatt Merzenich, in collaboration with the Next Economy Lab, hosted a dialogue workshop at the CUBITY.
The CUBITY receives the “Exemplary Buildings in the State of Hesse 2020” award. Following the recognition in 2022, the official plaque for the title has now been presented.
On 7 December 2023, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Municipal Affairs, Building and Digitalization of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, RWE Power AG and the municipality of Merzenich jointly signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) at the Cubity Atelier House regarding the transfer of the village of Morschenich-Alt to the municipality of Merzenich.
If we allow it, Advent is a cozy time – a time for reflection. We have illuminated the inside of the CUBITY Atelier House during the dark Advent and Christmas season – switching on a light as an inner and outer orientation. Because light is the source of life and means hope and warmth for us humans. Light allows us to be productive. It also gives us a sense of security. By illuminating our CUBITY, we send this hope out to people.
